Fully recommend it.. This is my first review and English is not my first language, so sorry for any mistakes. Beyond eden is a pretty dark bl game centertered around Alex Wake, a man who dedicated his life to revenge. If you enjoy dark, twisted stories with manipulative, disturbed, cold-hearted, but not entirely unsympathetic protagonist, you probably will enjoy this game as much as I do. Now about the things I liked and didn’t like about this game.Pros:+The main character is so unique and for me, a person who is sick of docile goody two shoes or misunderstood antiheroes, playing as a confident, smart and manipulative protagonist was like a breath of fresh air.+Writing is pretty good. R*pe is treated as r*pe and unhealthy relationships are not presented as healthy.+ Almost every character in this game is full of flaws and that makes them perfectly human and relatable. + CG’s are pretty. + Music is good and suits the atmosphere of the game.+Voice acting during s*x scenes is super intense.Cons:- The only thing I didn’t like about the writing is the excess of r*ape scenes ( some of them were , in my opinion, unnecessary) and rather abrupt ending of “good endings”.- Translation needs to be edited (lots of typos and a couple of missing words).- Backgrounds are kinda plain and dull (maybe the artist meant them to be that way, idk).And guys, I must mention that the majority of relationships in this game are not healthy. The most vanilla routes are Lawrence and Jeremy (who is not really romanceable), so I wold not recommend this game to you if you are not into dark stuff. My personal rating for this game is 8,5/10.. I love this game. It's one of my favorites. The story is great. Revenge, love, lust, and mystery.. I'm surprised this does not have more negative reviews. I'm surprised people are allowed to keep this on the store.I really tried not to judge this game and finish all routes but I couldn't. (Some of my run-time is from literally having to walk away from the computer). I finished Morris, Theodore, Oscar, Jeremy, and part of Joshua's route. I did not play Laurence's route until just now and... ok his is amazing. His route is the only one that is worth playing at all. It ends rather abruptly, but it tells the entire story and has the best character development and story progression WITHOUT THE R*PE.For the rest of it though...THIS IS NOT A BL or "BOYS LOVE" GAME. THIS IS STRAIGHT UP BOYS R*PE GAMEThe description says "dubious consent/non-consensual sex" .... There is nothing dubious about it. You blackmail and emotionally manipulate them to bend or break them, you physically beat some of them, you pound into some until they cry out for you to stop and beg you to stop.... and you don't. You relish their cries and laugh at them. And that is in the good routes! This. Is. Messed. UpConstructive criticism: Don't make the main character a deranged, aggressive, psychopathic, r*pist. Seriously though, his reasons for his hatred are NOT able to justify how he acts in any way, shape, or form. He has little character development, and enough time to actually talk through his problems with the past is never given. Romantic relationships are not built. I would say they don't exist in this honestly. (Except for Laurence) He can be evil, manipulative, and full of revenge plans FINE. But to add all of the non-con stuff in there and to even try to twist some of them into consensual relationships is sick. The r*pe them until they like it or because they secretly like it mindset is terrifying.. Yes yes very nice, victorian dudes smooching each other as part of a revenge plot, 10\/10 would unlock all h scenes again. This VN was really good! The stories for each of the characters are different enough to be interesting yet they are all interconnected so that by playing them all you get the full story of what happened. I love the music, the artwork is amazing and those sound effects (I died laughing when I first heard them because I thought of the people in the sound booth recording them and different ways those effects could be procured). The one thing that I have to say is that for $30 I expected to have ALL of the characters to have a route and was upset that Edward did not have one...his could have been the most exciting and dramatic!! Instead, my pervy self died instantly having to read the child's mandatory route... don't get me wrong it's nice for the backstory but I seriously wanted to walk into the fire!! Please give Edward a route; he deserves one after all the sh*t he has gone through lol!! The crazed and unstable butler is my Fav (btw I was seriously shocked that he didn't kill himself, I really thought that he did and I was kinda sad that he didn't but I got over it when I saw his face)! Also, I kinda wanted to see some more serious yaoi jealousy (possibly though the "use" of the easy chick?) because there were plenty of chances to throw that in there.Despite the two small gripes above this is a good game to have in your collection!! I will be on the lookout for Edward's route And any future projects from you guys...Thank you for your hard work!!. I had this game on my wishlist months before it came out: to say I'm pleased with the game as a whole is such an understatment. Despite its questionable conent (which is highly enjoyable regardless, along with taleted and skilled voice acting.) It was so fun to play through each character- to unravel this well put together story, to grow and destory relationships was so sophisticated and wondrous. I've never found a BL visual novel to be so enjoyable for the plot and for the "plot". I'm so excited to see any new updates for the game and hope in the future this fantastic comapny creates another great BL game since we are much lacking such amazing games in Steam, BL, and Visual Novel community.
